Deputy Mayor Serena Tonel, Superintendent Giuliano Polo and Artistic Director Valerio Vicari of the Fondazione Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi di Trieste presented the touring project Note in d’Estate in Città 2026 (Summer Notes Around the City 2026) at Trieste City Hall on Monday 29 June.
Following last year’s success, the Note d’Estate in Città summer festival returns to Trieste, bringing the Teatro Verdi Brass Ensemble to twelve open-air performances across the city between 4 and 19 July. Through this lively ensemble, the Orchestra of the Teatro Verdi once again steps beyond the theatre to animate some of Trieste’s most beloved locations, including Piazza Hortis Garden, Barcola, Prosecco, Opicina and Villa Revoltella, among many others. Each performance lasts approximately 45 minutes and features a sequence of celebrated excerpts from opera and operetta by Verdi, Wagner, Puccini, Lehár and Benatzky. The Trieste-based ensemble comprises five musicians led by the indefatigable Domenico Lazzaroni, Principal Trombone of the Orchestra, who on this occasion performs on the less commonly heard euphonium.
